HER BLUE EYES

HER BLUE EYES

6 June 2003 (was inspired by this song: Ogo Kajalnayana Horini by Hemanta Mukherjee)

She Asks Me,
“Why Are You Staring At Me?”

I Didn’t Have Any
        Specific Answer

Because

When I Look Into
        Her Blue Eyes

I See Myself Floating
            In The Blue Sky
I Can Feel The Water
            Floating On The Clouds
The World Beneath
            Looks Such A Nice
And Beautiful Place
            I Feel Freer

When I Look Into
        Her Blue Eyes

I See Myself Swimming
In The Blue Ocean
With The Fishes
Mastering The Waves
            Drifting With Time
Floating Peacefully

When I Look Into
        Her Blue Eyes

I Feel Like A Mountain Bluebird
            In Freefall
From The Highest Cliffs
            Overtaking Everything
Almost Conquering The World
            Master Of The Skies

When I Look Into
        Her Blue Eyes

I Feel Like The
            Wild Bluebells
Butterflies Taking Shelter
            Bees Buzzing Around
The Pleasant Smell
And Peace Of The Forest

Oh Nature
        I Was Born Into You
And Into You
        I Will Give My Life

When I Look Into
                    Her Blue Eyes
.           .           .           .           .           .           .           .           .

RAINY DAY

RAINY DAY

                                7 June 2003
written (while getting wet in the rain) during a splendid rainfall during the hot summer Bangladesh afternoon.

Let The Rains
        Wash Away My Pains

Can I Learn About Love
                  From The Books
        And Not From Your Looks?

I Want To Feel The Cold
                                Of Rain-Waters
And I Don’t Want To Be Told
        Or To Be Taught
                    By Any Elders

I Want To Get Wet
        And Feel Nature
I Don’t Want To Be Upset
        Or Endure
                    Life’s Torture

Let The Rains
        Wash Away My Pains . . .

Like It
Washes The Dirt
And Leaves The Fields And Trees Greener

Like It
        Melts The Clouds
        And Leaves The Skies Brighter

Like It
Cleans The Dust
And Leaves The Tin-Roofs Brighter

Like It
        Washes The Park-Benches
And Makes Them Feel More Natural

Can It?
        Wash Away My Pains . . .

(The World Seems Brighter)
My Heart Seems Lighter
My Mind Feels Clearer

                   Have The Rains
Washed Away My Pains?

EXPECTATIONS

EXPECTATIONS

                                      started on 28 June 2003 . . .

I want to fly
High above the blue sky

I want to swim
In the cool-running stream

          I want to stand . . .
On this brown land

                   … and run
under the evening sun

I want to be tall green grass
Dancing in the wind
In a grand mountain pass

 I want to be raindrops
Kissing the tree-tops

I want to be a rainbow
To put my colors on show

I want to blossom
In time to come

“What do you I
WANT
           From ME?”

Beautiful Butterfly (Thanking The Creator)

Beautiful Butterfly (Thanking The Creator) - 8 December 2016

Butterfly effect! Today morning, a butterfly sat on a nearby car window.
Is this poem a result of that?

Caterpillar, Caterpillar
Mystery of nature,

Chrysalis
Designing Limitless,

Butterfly, Butterfly
Fly by, fly by,

Wings unfurled
Beauty amplified

Patterns infinite
... Yet Immaculate

My Poem: Life

LIFE

The man
          Dying in bed
                   thinking, dreaming
Of days that were
          Times spent
                   Friendship made
                             Work done
                                      Punishments received
                                                Quarrels fought
          Some wrong doings
                   Things undone
Ah, hindsight

Now Death brings its message –
          What . . . ?

My Poem: Nature/Trees

NATURE / TREES

                                      20 May 2003

Grew up in the village
          Playing in open fields
                   By the mango trees

Having fun
          Picnics in the woods
School was enjoyable
          At times

Became a Business Man
          Hard toil and work
Invested in Real Estates

One Fine Morning
          Money was there to spend
Make more Buildings
          Create Cities of Cement

My child Asks
          “where will I play?”

My Poem: Corporate Life!

Corporate Life!

A Slave of Time
That's What I Am
                   I Rhyme
To The Clock's Chime
To Earn My Dime
